A Heartfelt Reunion at Kanyawanga High School Alumni Meet

I recently had the privilege of joining fellow alumni from Kanyawanga High School for a special gathering, which also marked the retirement of our esteemed principal, Mr. Jacob Mbogo. The event, held on the last Sabbath of his tenure, was a poignant celebration of his remarkable career and the lasting impact he has had on countless students.

Celebrating Mr. Jacob Mbogo

The Sabbath celebration saw alumni from the years 2012 to 2018 coming together to honor Mr. Mbogo’s dedication and service. It was a wonderful trip down memory lane, filled with heartfelt moments and nostalgic reflections. Meeting up with my classmates, visiting my old school hostel, and interacting with the impressive group of alumni brought back a flood of cherished memories.

A Decade Later: Back to Alma Mater

Returning to Kanyawanga High School as a member of the Class of 2014, nearly a decade later, was a profound experience. It was a great honor to be part of the final Sabbath celebration for Chief Principal Jacob Mbogo. The event was a powerful reminder of the key messages of prayerfulness, gratitude, and effort that Mr. Mbogo instilled in us.

Giving Back

In addition to reconnecting with old friends and mentors, I had the opportunity to give back to my alma mater. I donated important Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials and books from Stowelink INC, as well as copies of my latest book, Practical Skills. It was fulfilling to contribute to the ongoing education and inspiration of current students.

Reflecting on the Experience

Overall, the alumni meet was an enriching and unforgettable experience. It was a testament to the enduring spirit of Kanyawanga High School and the strong bonds formed during our time there. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to participate in this event and to celebrate the incredible legacy of Mr. Jacob Mbogo.

Long Live Kanyawanga!

“Long live under jamna! Where prayer is your guiding light!” This motto continues to resonate deeply with all of us who had the privilege of attending Kanyawanga High School. Here’s to many more years of excellence and the guiding light of prayer.

Looking forward to more opportunities to connect, give back, and celebrate the Kanyawanga spirit!
