Ogweno Stephen Mentors Japan’s Next Generation of Leaders through Tobitate Scholarship Program

In July and August, Ogweno Stephen had the incredible honor of mentoring Japan’s brightest minds as part of the Tobitate Scholarship program, a prestigious initiative by the Japanese government. As one of the 198 global leaders featured in the best-seller We Have a Dream, Ogweno’s achievements and influence earned him a place among the world’s top mentors for this transformative program.

The Tobitate! (Leap for Tomorrow) Study Abroad Initiative, a public-private partnership, sponsors Japanese high school and university students to pursue education abroad. Ogweno joined this initiative as a global mentor, guiding 100 scholars from Japan as they prepared to make an impact globally.

During the mentorship, Ogweno shared invaluable insights on how to innovate, connect, and network while navigating the challenges and opportunities of studying in new cultural environments. Drawing from his vast experience as a health innovator and global advocate, Ogweno inspired these students to leverage their education and creativity to solve pressing global challenges.
