Geneva Through My Lenses : A photo journal

It has been an absolute pleasure visiting Geneva. A city known for diplomacy, beauty, and its unique blend of tradition and global thought leadership, Geneva offered me more than just meetings and side events — it offered a moment of reflection, connection, and inspiration.

This blog post is a personal photo journal — a glimpse into the sights, sounds, and emotions that made my time here so memorable.

Where Advocacy Meets Atmosphere

As I attended the 78th World Health Assembly (WHA78), Geneva felt like the heartbeat of global health. Inside the United Nations buildings and conference halls, I engaged with leaders, experts, and fellow advocates working to shape the future of health — especially in areas like noncommunicable diseases (NCDs), youth engagement, and obesity care.

But outside those rooms, Geneva showed me its soul — lakeside calm, quiet gardens, elegant architecture, and the hum of internationalism everywhere.

My Photo Collection

This collection of photos and short videos captures:

  • The serene views of Lake Geneva at sunrise and sunset
  • Iconic spots like the Jet d’Eau, Palais des Nations, and charming old town alleys
  • Moments of advocacy and dialogue during WHA78 — panel discussions, youth-led events, and civil society engagements
  • Snapshots of community, culture, and connection as I met old friends and made new ones
  • Simple joys — coffee by the Rhône, a stroll through Parc Mon Repos, and quiet reflections at the botanical garden

Each image holds a story — not just of where I was, but who I was becoming in that moment. Geneva reminded me that the spaces we advocate in should also nourish and inspire us.

Reflections From the Day

In between the formal sessions and media interviews, I found time to pause. To watch the water ripple calmly. To listen to languages I didn’t understand but somehow felt part of. To realize that advocacy isn’t only about strategy — it’s also about being present, open, and grateful.

Geneva gave me a space to recharge and reaffirm why this work matters — especially for communities that often don’t make it to the tables we sit at.

Thank You, Geneva

As I wrap up this trip, I’m leaving with more than policy notes and conference highlights. I’m leaving with stories, moments, and a deep sense of belonging in this global movement for better health.

This blog is a snapshot, a lens through which I’ve experienced a city that balances diplomacy and beauty with grace. I hope you enjoy these glimpses into my day here — and feel the same inspiration that Geneva gave me.

Until next time — merci, Geneva.
