Over the past six months, I, Ogweno Stephen, have been on an inspiring journey of growth, innovation, and learning as we continue to build Lifesten Health. Being part of the Commonwealth Startup Fellowship has been a truly transformative experience, not just for our startup but also for me personally as a founder and a Kenyan health advocate.
Growth Through Fellowship
The Commonwealth Startup Fellowship has provided more than just mentorship—it has been a platform to refine our vision and strengthen the foundations of Lifesten Health. I have gained invaluable skills in pitching, financing, and fundraising, while also connecting with a global network of innovators working to solve some of the world’s most pressing health challenges.
Building and Upgrading Lifesten Health
At Lifesten, our mission is simple yet powerful: to make preventive health and wellness accessible and engaging. Over the past months, we’ve introduced exciting product upgrades that are improving both our app and dashboard, creating a smoother and more impactful experience for users and partners. These improvements are driven by feedback from our community and our commitment to continuous innovation.
Looking Ahead: Pilots and Research
We are now preparing to launch workplace pilot programs, designed to help organizations improve the health and productivity of their teams. At the same time, we are building new research partnerships with major universities, further solidifying our approach to evidence-based innovation in preventive health.
Personal Reflections
As I reflect on this journey, I am grateful for the opportunity to grow not only as an entrepreneur but also as a Kenyan health advocate committed to transforming how people engage with their health. The challenges have been real, but so have the victories—and each step brings us closer to a healthier, more proactive Africa.
The journey of Lifesten Health is far from over. In fact, it feels like we are just getting started. With stronger products, deeper partnerships, and a clear mission, I look forward to what lies ahead as we continue building Africa’s leading preventive health platform.
