Exploring New York City during my recent trip for the United Nations High-Level Meetings on Noncommunicable Diseases (NCDs) was an unforgettable experience.

Between the packed sessions and policy discussions, I took some quiet moments to see the city , from the fast-moving trains and the buzz of Union Station, to the breathtaking skyscrapers and the peaceful parks tucked between them.

Through my lens, New York felt like a city of contrasts , energy and calm, history and innovation, all blending together.

Each photo captures a piece of that experience, a reminder that even in spaces of global policy and advocacy, there’s beauty in pausing to look around.

As a Kenyan health advocate, moments like these remind me of the connection between people, places, and purpose , that every city, just like every health system, tells a story of resilience and reinvention.
